Rochfort Distillery Hardy's Muscat Cask Release
A release from the Rochfort distillery matured in a Hardy's Muscat cask
Rochfort Distillery
A short lived distillery, Rochfort was founded in 2018 by John Rochfort. John had previously managed the Nant distillery, became the Lark distillery CEO and then in 2014 helped to establish the Mclaren Vale distillery with his father and brothers. When he left Mclaren Vale in 2018 he decided he wanted to open his own distillery space and began construction on the outskirts of Victor Harbour in South Australia. The Rochfort distillery chose to focus on single cask production with the previous contents of the barrel the main draw. Utilising a variety of wine and fortified types, the Rochfort produced heavily wine influenced spirit and found a great deal of traction amongst collectors for its choice of packaging. Presented in tall gold or white tubes and adorned with gold coloured plating, Rochfort bottles commanded a price right from their initial release, with retail pricing typically upwards of $500.
