Dunedin Doublewood New Zealand Collection 16 Year Old (500ml)

A 16 year old expression of New Zealand whisky from the Willowbank distillery in Dunedin. Willowbank was opened in 1974 producing blends and malt products before being acquired by Seagrams in the 1980's. Production stopped in 1997 and the distillery was mothballed in 2000. The stills used at Willowbank have since been relocated to Fiji and are used by the South Pacific distillery to produce rum. The New Zealand Whisky Company were able to purchase roughly 600 barrels of remaining single malt stock and have been quietly ageing it themselves.
