Hillside-Glenesk 1970 25 Year Old Rare Malts Selection

A highland distillery that unfortunately closed in 1985 amid the Scotch whisky crisis of the 1980s. Glen Esk, or Hillside, produced a light and fruity style of whisky that was popular with blenders and featured prominently in the Vat69 blend. Sanderson & Son continued to license the use of Glen Esk's stocks all the way up to the early 1990s until eventually their license was cancelled. The rare malts series was a collection of bottles from Diageo themselves produced during the 1990s and featured otherwise unseen distilleries from their portfolio at the time. These included legendary names such as Port Ellen, Brora and Convalmore.
