No Reserve Ben Wyvis 1965 37 Year Old Single Cask #300066 Final Bottling

A 1965 vintage single cask expression of the closed distillery Ben Wyvis matured for 37 years. Cask #300066 was one of the final sets of casks bottled from the ghost distillery. The Ben Wyvis name was originally attributed to a distillery opened in 1879 which was later renamed Ferintosh, before closing in the 1920's. The name as we know it today refers to a malt whisky site housed inside the Invergordon grain complex built in 1965. The malt was used primarily for Invergordon's blended whiskies but less than a dozen casks were released as single malts through just a couple of independent bottlers. The distillery closed in 1977 but the stills were salvaged and moved down to Campbeltown for use at the resurrected Glengyle distillery. A number of official releases and single casks have been released from Ben Wyvis but in total just 14 different offerings of Ben Wyvis have ever been bottled across all independent bottlers and OB releases!
