What is Bowel Cancer?

Bowel cancer is Australia’s second deadliest cancer and the deadliest cancer for Australians aged 25-44. Shockingly, 15,531 people are diagnosed with bowel cancer each year, and it claims more lives than breast cancer or prostate cancer, affecting men and women almost equally. However, with early detection, almost 99% of cases can be successfully treated.

Symptoms:

B Blood in your poo

O Obvious change in your bowel habit

W Weight loss you can’t explain

E Extreme tiredness for no reason

L Lump or swelling in your abdomen.

If symptoms persist for more than two weeks, see you GP. You should never be told you are too young for bowel cancer. For more information, visit bowelcanceraustralia.org

Highwayman

The brainchild of industry veteran Dan Wooley, Highwayman whisky was born in 2016. He began acquiring new make from over 10 distilleries throughout Australia and marrying them into casks of his selection. These initial casks would serve as the launching pad for his future endeavours of distilling, maturing and bottling his own spirit. At the time Dan was the face of Beam-Suntory in Australia, often being found at whisky shows and industry events across the country. This professional role allowed him access to distilleries like Laphroaig, Jim Beam and Yamazaki, gaining invaluable experience that would further guide his Highwayman endeavour. In 2018 Dan began creating his own spirit at the Lord Byron distillery and in early 2020 the Highwayman brand became a reality with the release of batch #1. Often a vatting of small sized casks, Highwayman releases are typically sold out as soon as they are made available and have found a considerable fanbase.

In 2021 Dan launched “Highwayman HQ” in Byron Bay. A uniquely crafted homebase for his operations, the HQ contains all of the brand’s maturing stock and most importantly, a cellar door. Enthusiasts can, for the first time, visit the cellar door and taste Highwayman whisky as well as meet Dan himself. Ranging from Tawny to PX, Oloroso sherry to bourbon and even some rarer cask types, Highwayman whisky is focused on excellent cask selection before a spirit comes anywhere near wood. With Dan’s commitment to sourcing top notch barrels, his whisky has been able to suit any palette out there.
