Bowel Cancer Charity Lot Teeling 17 Year Old Jim Barry Collaboration Australian Shiraz Finish - Bowel Cancer Australia

An Irish single malt from Teeling Whisky, this 17 year old single malt was a collaboration with South Australian winemaker Jim Barry. Teeling's Irish single malt was finished in Australian shiraz barrels, the first ever Irish single malt to use Australian wine casks. A limited release with only 2,000 bottles made and bottled at 46%.

This lot has kindly been donated by Michael Shannon @danmurphys_mshan for June’s featured charity auction, which is proudly supporting Bowel Cancer Australia.

The charity lots were organized by Brendan Moynihan who was diagnosed with Bowel Cancer in December 2022. What is Bowel Cancer?

Bowel cancer is Australia’s second deadliest cancer and the deadliest cancer for Australians aged 25-44. Shockingly, 15,531 people are diagnosed with bowel cancer each year, and it claims more lives than breast cancer or prostate cancer, affecting men and women almost equally. However, with early detection, almost 99% of cases can be successfully treated.
