The Lakes was founded in 2011, setting up in its namesake of the Lake District National Park in the UK. Typically a sherry lead style of whisky, this expression is the whiskymaker's reserve batch 4. Matured in Oloroso, red wine and PX sherry casks, this edition was named whiskymag's 2022 world's best single malt. A difficult feat to accomplish, this English whisky beat out every other bottling tried across all categories and is likely to raise considerable interest in the distillery throughout the next few years.
