A huge 1976 vintage single caks expression of Banff matured for 40 years in a bourbon hogshead. It was bottled at 51.2% Abv by Cadenhead's as part of their 175th anniversary celebrations. Banff struggled to remain open due to a large number of fires throughout its history. The site was even bombed in 1941! Closed in 1983 amid the downturn of the Scotch whisky industry, Banff would eventually be destroyed by another fire in 1991, a somewhat fitting end.
